Internationalization of software and web projects

Availability of necessary information wherever your customers are and at your customers' mother tongue is one of the important competitive advantages in the present-day world. Afortio helps to realize this advantage in the optimal way.

Depending on your needs we provide the following services:

• Ready web site translation into one or several languages. For this purpose we extract necessary information to be translated (texts) from the application source code (web pages, images, rich media files) and provide it to the translators in a convenient format. Translation results are incorporated back into the source code (web pages, images, rich media files) and the new language site is tested and to look exactly the same as the initial one. This process is supported by special automation tools developed by Afortio and allowing translation fulfilling in the shortest terms. The full range of technologies are supported (flash, php, asp, jsp, ...)
  
• More sophisticated globalization solution for your software or web application like intranet portal, e-store etc. so as it would support users operating in different languages and locales, with different data, number and currency formats
  
  
• Basic and/or full quality assurance of solutions being internationalized to ensure that different text lengths, fonts, and language-specific formatting produce the same appearance of applications being internationalized. Also we ensure that application handles locale-specific information (dates, times, numbers, currencies) correctly
  
  
• Upon completing internationalization of solution, we provide post-project support services to simplify evolution of customer solution (updating textual content, supporting additional locales/input languages, etc.

Representative projects

Localization of HR Intranet site for leading Automobile Manufacturer

Localization included support for 10+ different languages and complete localization of site content (static pages, media). The web site contained 300+ pages and 200+ images/Flash files with translatable content, which was automatically extracted for translation and later integrated back. In order to reach the delivery terms, automatic and semi-automatic solutions were developed to aid the process

Localization of Calendar solution for Swedish Telecommunication Company

In the frame of this project Afortio specialists performed refactoring for enabling localization of Calendar solution for Swedish Telecommunication Company. The web solution which was originally developed only for English readers was modified to support visitors with different locales and then translated into several European languages, including Swedish.

Localization of Fax2Mail web site

In the scope of this project Afortio performed site redesign of existing Fax2Mail web site to allow it support localized versions, extracted translatable content from text and media files for translators and integrated changes back using Afortio proprietary translation automation solution. Localization was performed for 5 languages.
