Custom drivers development

Virtual COM port driver

The driver works under Windows 9X/ME/NT/2000/XP systems and provides virtual COM ports to communicate via external hardware. It performs transparent conversion from custom hardware protocol to serial protocol what allows representing external devices as serial.

VirComm driver

VirComm driver provides virtualization of communication via selected Physical Serial Ports (COM ports) into set of virtual serial ports. Algorithms of filtering information between Virtual COM ports were defined in driver configuration file and allowed splitting mixed incoming traffic from hardware device into different streams (text, binary) which then were delivered to Virtual Serial Port, allowing devices connected to the Virtual Serial Port see only relevant traffic stream. Outgoing traffic received from Virtual Ports was mixed into single stream (with proper stream synchronization) and delivered to the Physical Port.

This effectively allowed for single hardware device to communicate via several streams of different format with PC applications, hiding all internal details of filtering inside driver. The rules for splitting traffic were defined for each serial port in a configuration file, so driver provided flexibility level necessary for supporting variations in stream formats. Driver was implemented for Windows 2000/XP as filter driver.

Integration to MS Office

Outlook Integration for Amdocs ClarifyCRM

Working in partnership with Vested Development, Inc, Afortio developed solution which fully integrates Amdocs ClarifyCRM workspace into the Microsoft Outlook. It provides seamless bi-directional synchronization of sales person's data (contact list, calendar, tasks, correspondence, etc) between Microsoft Outlook and Clarify CRM. Standard Outlook objects are customized with respect to CRM object model. The customized forms support field mapping between MS Outlook and Clarify CRM

The solution also associates customers' inbound and outbound email messages with CRM system entities such as accounts, opportunities, contacts or leads. Further, end users may even synchronize information with the PDA using Outlook synchronization extensions. Solution has convenient and easy to use graphic user interface and can work in both offline and online modes. J2EE, C++, HTTP, SOAP, Outlook Add-ins were used in this project.

OutlookForce

Working in partnership with Vested Development, Inc, Afortio has developed OutlookForce for salesforce.com. OutlookForce is part of InvisibleCRM s line of salesforce.com extensions, which brings the power of CRM inside of Microsoft Outlook.

New tabs and menu options added to Microsoft Outlook to bring CRM functionality and new combinations of information that adds new insight to customer profiles. Each component of the CRM is represented in Microsoft Outlook, making it easy to cross-reference information, track leads and opportunities, or any of the standard functions of a CRM system.

OutlookForce supports online and offline modes and provides invisible automatic data synchronization between salesforce.com and Outlook bringing new level of flexibility to end users. Outlook's comprehensive calendar, task and contact list becomes available for clear planning inside salesforce.com.

Web-based solution development

Web-site for EIPM SA

Information web-site for Swiss firm translated into French, German and English. The site includes introduction of network equipment and description of its technical opportunities. The existing HTML version was transferred by Afortio specialists into CMS to facilitate content management.

Co-development of several web projects with Evident (the Netherlands)

Afortio is successfully developing co-works with Evident - Dutch company specializing at websites, applications development and mobile services. We took part in several projects for customers in Netherlands aiming at web-site building on the base of content management system used by Evident. Successful results of these projects have allowed our partner to continue and extend our collaboration.

Localization of Fax2Mail web site

In the scope of this project Afortio performed site redesign of existing Fax2Mail web site to allow it support localized versions, extracted translatable content from text and media files for translators and integrated changes back using Afortio proprietary translation automation solution. Localization was performed for 5 languages.

Custom projects

Performance Analysis Tool

Performance Analysis Tool (PAT) was designed to allow visual tracing of signals, states and events that appear during operation of network processor which was created by customer company. PAT supports both real-time online and offline information processing, flexible diagram configuration, zooming and appearance, creation of custom algorithms for processing incoming signals. And finally it supports the debugging information specific to the target platform which allows a customer to set checkpoints by pointing specific places in the application source code and monitor how these checkpoints are processed by the hardware.

Pattern Generation Language Interpreter

PGL is a specialized language to allow creation of sophisticated testing sequences to be fed to the network processing devices for testing their operation and performance as well as for retrieval and parsing of device output for regress testing purposes.
